Job Description
• Crowe Maldives LLP is seeking two (2) highly motivated Senior Associate, Tax to join our growing team. The role will support the firm's tax compliance and advisory activities, working closely with clients and the tax team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax services.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, GST, TGST, employee withholding tax and withholding tax
• Review tax assessments issued to clients and prepare assessments, objections and responses
• Assist with tax audits, including preparing schedules and information requested by the tax authority
• Prepare tax advisory reports and memos in response to client queries
• Liaise with clients to collect required documents and resolve tax-related queries, taking decisions on routine matters and escalating complex issues
• Conduct research on tax laws, regulations and rulings to support tax computations
• Review clients' financial position and advise on the related tax implications
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with statutory filing deadlines
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in relevant field
Desired Skills
• Sound working knowledge of the Maldivian tax system, including income tax, GST/TGST and withholding taxes
• Maturity and judgement to take decisions on routine matters and to handle client queries independently
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and Dhivehi
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, while meeting tight deadlines
• Good report writing skills, with the ability to draft tax advisory reports and client correspondence
• Strong analytical skills with initiative, problem-solving ability, and sound organizational skills
• Proficient at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with the ability to adapt to new accounting and tax systems
Additional Information
• Salary: Negotiable based on qualification and experience
• Working Hours: 08:00 - 15:30 (Sunday to Thursday)
